Maurice Ravel was born exactly 150 years ago, in 1875. He cultivated a style that combined the classical with the contemporary, but behind the classicist surface of this music lies a lot of melancholy and sensuality.
In the program, Izumi piano duo brings all of Ravel's works for piano 4-handed, but also the music of his teacher Gabriel Fauré and the composers who inspired and influenced Ravel, namely Erik Satie and Claude Debussy.
Including La Belle Excentrique by Satie, Pavane pour une infante défunte by Ravel and Petite Suite by Debussy.
